Please take two minutes to read this page before using anything on the site. It isn't boilerplate—it spells out what we can help you with and what we can't carry for you, and that distinction genuinely matters for protecting yourself.
This site is education, not advice
Everything on ScamLens is for scam-awareness and educational purposes only. It does not constitute, and should not be taken as, investment advice, financial advice, tax advice, or legal advice. We don't know your specific circumstances and we don't provide personalized professional opinions to anyone. For specific investment, tax, or legal decisions, consult a qualified, licensed professional—such as a registered investment adviser, a CPA, or an attorney in your jurisdiction.
Crypto is high-risk
Take this seriously
Crypto-asset prices are extremely volatile, and you could lose your entire principal. Every decision to trade, buy, sell, or hold is one you make and bear the consequences of yourself. We don't call trades, predict the market, or recommend any specific asset or timing. Any trading decision you make after reading this site has nothing to do with us; the gains and losses are yours alone. As U.S. regulators such as the SEC and the CFTC have repeatedly warned, crypto assets can be highly speculative and are not insured by the FDIC or SIPC the way bank deposits or brokerage holdings may be.
On the accuracy of our scam information
We do our best to keep scam information accurate and current; our verification methods are written up in how we verify. But you need to understand two things:
- Scam tactics change constantly. A warning sign that works today, scammers may have swapped out tomorrow. This site reflects the situation at our last review and cannot possibly cover every newly emerging variant.
- We make no guarantee of absolute accuracy. We strive to be accurate but do not promise zero errors; we accept no liability for any action you take based on this site's information, or its results. This site's content is provided "as is."
In other words: treat our content as a reference that helps you stay alert, not a guarantee that makes you absolutely safe. The final judgment and decision remain in your own hands.
On third-party platforms mentioned here
For educational purposes, we mention certain third-party platforms, tools, or services (including OKX). These third parties are independently operated and responsible for themselves; we are not responsible for their services, products, availability, or conduct. We have a referral relationship with OKX—see our affiliate disclosure; that relationship doesn't change the line above—third-party matters are the third party's responsibility.
Once you click an outbound link and leave this site, you'll be subject to the terms and policies of the other site. Exercise your own judgment, proceed carefully, and always confirm the official domain.
What to do about a specific problem
For what we can't help with, find the right people
If you face a specific legal dispute, stolen funds, or a compromised account, consult a licensed attorney and report it to the proper authorities. In the U.S., that means filing with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at ic3.gov, reporting to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov, and contacting your local police; you can also report to the SEC, the CFTC, or the CFPB where relevant, and reach the exchange's official support. In the UK, report to Action Fraud. ScamLens is an educational site; we cannot provide case-specific legal help, and we run no "recover your losses for you" service—anyone charging you a fee to recover funds in the name of ScamLens is an impersonator, and you should treat it as a scam (a tactic the FTC has flagged as a "recovery scam").
