The good news is this page is short, because we collect very little to begin with. ScamLens is a static educational site—we neither have nor want your private data. Below we lay out what we touch and what we don't, plus the rights you have if you're in the EU/UK or in California.
No signup required
Browsing everything on ScamLens requires no account and no login. We have no user system, and we collect no usernames, passwords, private keys, seed phrases, or any exchange credentials. In fact, we remind you over and over: be highly wary of any site that asks you to hand those over—and we certainly never would.
What we may collect
To understand how many people read us and which content is useful, we may use a basic analytics tool—Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Tools like this typically collect anonymous or aggregated technical information, such as:
- The pages visited and the rough path you take through and away from the site;
- Your referral source (where you clicked in from);
- Device and browser type, and approximate region (usually inferred from IP, used for aggregate stats);
- The time of your visit.
This data is used to improve content and understand overall traffic, not to identify you personally. We see trends and aggregates, not "what one specific person did." Note that Google, as the analytics provider, processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy; you can learn more and opt out using Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
About cookies
The site's own functionality is simple and doesn't depend on account login, so we don't use cookies to track you personally. The analytics tool (GA4) may use cookies or similar technologies (for example, to distinguish new from returning visitors or to aggregate sessions). You can clear or refuse cookies anytime through your browser settings, which usually won't affect your normal reading of the site.
Your rights under GDPR (EU/UK)
If you're in the European Union or the United Kingdom
Under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have rights over any personal data relating to you, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and the right to data portability. Where we rely on analytics cookies, our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (for example, by refusing cookies in your browser). Because we run no user accounts and collect only aggregated analytics, we hold little to no data that identifies you individually—but if you believe we do, you may contact us to exercise these rights, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Your rights under CCPA/CPRA (California)
If you're a California resident
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing." We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, write to us at the address below.
What we don't do
Our commitments
- We don't collect sensitive personal information (usernames, passwords, private keys, seed phrases, ID documents, bank cards, etc.).
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't rent or lend it to third parties for marketing.
- We won't DM you in the site's name, ask you for a verification code, or ask you to transfer money—anyone doing so is an impersonator.
After you click an outbound link
This site contains links to third-party sites, such as OKX's official registration link. Once you click these links and leave ScamLens, your data is handled by the other site under its own privacy policy and is no longer governed by this one. We recommend reading each third-party platform's privacy policy before using it, and always confirming the official domain. Our relationship with OKX is described in our affiliate disclosure.
Policy updates and contact
We may update this privacy policy from time to time; updates take effect on this page once posted. If you have any privacy questions, want to exercise a GDPR or CCPA/CPRA right, or want to know exactly which analytics tools we use, write to us: privacy@scamlenss.com.
